At Neelcamp, we collaborate with passionate program providers who are creating meaningful and engaging experiences for children and young learners. From skill-based training to character-building environments, these programs go beyond just activities. They help shape confidence, resilience, and personal growth. We recently had the opportunity to connect with Dr. Kai from 1Up MuayThai Academy, a training space dedicated to teaching Muay Thai while fostering discipline, respect, and self-confidence in students. Through structured classes and supportive coaching, their programs focus not only on physical fitness and technique, but also on mental strength and personal development. We asked Dr. Kai a few questions about their approach, their programs, and what being part of Neelcamp means to them.

1. Could you give us a glimpse into your organization and the experiences you offer to children and their families?
"At 1Up MuayThai Academy, we offer after-school care, summer enrichment programs and MuayThai classes for children and their families. What makes our organization unique is the level of care and expertise behind everything we do. Our team includes two advanced degree holders, one Doctor of Physical Therapy and one with a Master’s in Exercise Science (and currently enrolled in a Doctorate of Business Administration program) who are directly involved in supporting our students.
Because of our backgrounds, we are able to offer a more thoughtful and individualized approach to each child’s development. Beyond teaching MuayThai, we focus heavily on mentorship, confidence-building, discipline, and creating healthy lifelong habits.
We are also excited to have recently launched our rehabilitation Pilates program, taught by our Doctor of Physical Therapy in semi-private classes with a maximum of five students. In addition, we offer physical therapy-based recovery services such as dry needling and cupping to support overall rehabilitation, recovery, and wellness for both children and adults."
2. What inspired you to begin your journey of working with children and families?
"What inspired us most is the impact that movement, discipline, and wellness have had on our own personal journeys. We’ve experienced firsthand how powerful the right support system can be, both physically and mentally.
Our mission is to inspire those who may feel like it is too late to take control of their health or who may feel discouraged. We truly believe there is always hope, and it is never too late to start.
In today’s world, convenience often means people are moving less and sitting more, which contributes to chronic physical and mental health challenges. We want to be a resource, a support system, and a place where families feel empowered to build healthier lifestyles together."
3. If you could describe your program experience in a few words, what would they be?
"Empowering, supportive, disciplined, family-centered, and transformational."
4. What has been your experience collaborating with Neelcamp as a platform?
"Our experience so far has been wonderful. The Neelcamp team has been responsive, helpful, and very supportive in guiding us through the platform and clearly communicating how it serves families. We appreciate how easy the process has been and how committed your team is to helping families connect with meaningful programs."
5. How do you think platforms like Neelcamp are helping families discover meaningful opportunities for their children?
"Platforms like Neelcamp are incredibly valuable because they save families time and energy by providing a centralized, easy-to-navigate database of opportunities. Instead of having to search through multiple websites or sift through endless online results, families can quickly discover a variety of meaningful activities in one place.
This convenience, along with the variety of options available, helps parents make more informed decisions and connect their children with programs that truly support their growth and development."
