The arts give kids room to create, perform, and build confidence. For National Arts in Education Week, we're featuring the Virginia providers on Neelcamp who make that happen, from ballet barres to sewing machines.

Dance & Ballet

Alchemy Ballet (Herndon): A nonprofit academy pairing classical Vaganova training with an advanced pre-professional and trainee program. It also offers summer intensives and adult ballet.

Dance Academy of Virginia (McLean & Del Ray): Classes for little dancers ages 2 to 5½ and youth ages 6 to 18, plus audition-only and invitation-only programs. Its students perform The Nutcracker at Capital One Hall in Tysons on November 22.

Deni Danzco Studio (Falls Church): Led by 2019 World Swing Champion Lara Deni. It offers private and group lessons, youth dance classes, wedding dances, and social events.

The Center for Ballet Arts (Fairfax): A community studio teaching ballet, pointe, modern, tap, and jazz, from recreational dancers to pre-professionals.

School for Swans (Old Town Alexandria): Teaching ballet, tap, and contemporary dance since 1975. PreBallet starts at age 3, and adult classes are offered too.

Skye Ballet Center (Herndon): Pre-professional ballet training in technique, pointe, variations, Pilates, and contemporary, plus a Master Class Series and the Northern Virginia Nutcracker.

The Virginia Ballet Company (Fairfax): A nonprofit school teaching classical and contemporary ballet since 1950. Classes run from Mommy & Me (ages 2 to 4) to adults, with adaptive dance and boys' ballet too.
