Building on decades of experience in intervention and successfully providing protective factors that have enabled thousands of students to change the trajectories of their lives, in 2019, BAM was replicated in Los Angeles, CA. To improve the academic achievement and personal well-being of their students, Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and Los Angeles County partnered with Youth Guidance to launch BAM in 5 LAUSD middle and high schools during the 2020-21 school year. For the 2022-23 school year, BAM will be in 8 LAUSD schools, and 1 school in the Compton USD. Students enrolled in the BAM Program are: 50% less likely to be arrested for violent crime, 25% more engaged in school, 19% more likely to graduate high school on time. $30 in societal gains for every $1 invested in BAM.
