A total of 32 hours of coaching and instruction by professional experienced staff. 16 hours on ice instruction focusing on skill development, correct skating technique, power skating, and edge work. 16 hours off ice instruction focusing on shooting, stick handling, strength, flexibility, balance, and speed. Our 8-week program is designed to be progressive, every 2 weeks the curriculum becomes more difficult and is designed to continuously challenge the player to push their limits, and train outside of their comfort zone. Training for 8 weeks consistently, and with skill progression, develops muscle/ brain memory and correct form, at a young age. The intent is that as the players grow; and get bigger, faster, and stronger, they are using correct technique and not forming bad habits that will be difficult to reverse when they are older. Players receive t-Shirt, jersey, and socks. Space is limited due to the low coach to player ratio. Registration is first come, first serve. Training will be held at Wessman Arena, home of the GRIT Hockey Club. Co-Ed Program Designed for Beginner and Intermediate level Mite/ U6 & U8 and Squirt/ U10 level players. Focus will be on correct skating techniques and edge work, stickhandling and shooting. The consistent repetition over the 8 week is very important for development and skill progression, at this age.
