A total of 56 hours of coaching and instruction by professional experienced staff. 32 hours on ice instruction focusing on skill development, correct skating technique, power skating, and edge work. 24 hours off ice instruction focusing on shooting, stick handling, strength, flexibility, balance, and speed. Our 8-week program is designed to be progressive, every 2 weeks the curriculum becomes more difficult and is designed to continuously challenge the player to push their limits, and train outside of their comfort zone. Training for 8 weeks consistently, and with skill progression, develops muscle/ brain memory and correct form, at a young age. The intent is that as the players grow; and get bigger, faster, and stronger, they are using correct technique and not forming bad habits that will be difficult to reverse when they are older. Players receive team workout gear, jersey, and socks. Space is limited due to the low coach to player ratio. Registration is first come, first serve. Training will be held at Wessman Arena, home of the GRIT Hockey Club. Designed for the Intermediate to Advanced level U8-U14 level female players who can already skate forward and backwards with the puck, stickhandle, and can shoot forwards and backhand. This session is mixed age but girls will be split into age appropriate training groups for on and off ice skill sessions.
