Overview

Our UVA Baseball Kids' Academy provides a fantastic opportunity for young players to improve their skillset, while growing their love of the game. Participants will work and train with the UVA coaching staff, current and former UVA baseball players, and other quality instructors.

The Kids' Academy runs daily from 8:30AM – 12:30PM and consists of organized and high-energy instructional stations. Players are grouped according to age and will travel through the different activities with their assigned teammates and coach. Small groups ensure individualized attention and instruction in fundamental baseball skills. Campers will have the opportunity to play in live games each day, giving campers the chance to put these learned skills into practice in live game situations.

Additional Information

Staff members will be present at 8AM each day for campers who need to be dropped off early. Please arrange to have campers picked up by 12:45PM each day.

Each camper must bring his own baseball equipment. Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats/spikes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, helmet, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Campers will not be allowed to loan or share equipment. Water and Gatorade will be provided, but campers should bring a water bottle/jug labeled with his/her name. Every camper in attendance will be given a camp T-Shirt.

Check-In: 7:30AM - 8:30AM on Monday, June 22nd at Ted Davenport Field at Disharoon Park

Refund Policy: We do not offer refunds for cancellations. You may purchase optional cancellation protection insurance for $50 which allows you a one-time transfer to a future camp or to receive a refund, minus processing fee, up to 14 days prior to the start date. If we have to cancel a camp due to unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a full refund minus processing fee.

Food and Drinks: Check each camp description for a list of meals provided. These meals are catered by the same University of Virginia team caterer who provides meals for the Virginia Baseball team. We will do our best to accommodate allergies, but your child is always welcome to bring his own lunch if you prefer. Water and Gatorade will be provided throughout the day.

What to Bring: Make sure you bring the completed medical waiver to registration. Your child will need all baseball gear - bat, helmet, glove, catcher's gear (if catching).

Cleats: We would strongly prefer molded cleats instead of metal spikes. Campers must have a pair of turfs or tennis shoes to be worn in our indoor spaces at Disharoon Park.

Medical Staff: All camps are covered by certified athletic trainer.
