About This Camp

Overview

Welcome to Summer at Hamlin Robinson School

Summer at HRS welcomes all students entering grades 1–8, with programs running June 29–August 7, 2026.

Classes and camps  are open to all children   they do not need to be enrolled at HRS to participate. We have before and after care available as well.

Whether your child is joining our camps for the first time or returning for more fun, there are plenty of ways to build their summer adventure!

Morning Slingerland® Reading & Writing Class

July 6–July 29  · 9:00am–12:00pm Students kick off the day with Slingerland® classes—structured, multisensory reading and writing lessons built to boost literacy skills for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. This three-and-a-half-week class is led by HRS faculty and staff. Morning sessions give students a strong foundation before they head out on afternoon adventures. All students are grouped by grade level.

Open to students entering grades 1–8 , each class includes up to 15 students  in the same grade, creating a supportive and age-aligned learning group. You must register for the entire three-and-a-half week class (July 6 - 29).

Afternoon Camps

July 6–July 31 · 1:00–4:00pm Extend your child's Slingerland® morning into a full-day exploration with an independent afternoon camp. Ending at 4:00pm with optional aftercare, the afternoon camps provide the flexibility to design the adventure that fits your camper best.

Full-Day Summer Camps

Starting a week before Slingerland® classes, you can register your child for Explorer's Week full-day camp (June 29–July 2) and/or register for Week 5 full-day camp (August 3–7). Full-day camps only available Explorer's Week and Week 5.

Discounts

Take advantage of early bird pricing: 10% off camps until December 31, then 5% off camps until January 31. From December 15 - December 31, a 10% discount is offered on the summer camps at HRS. This does not include the Slingerland Class - but does include all full-day and half-day camps. Purchase before December 31 to get the lowest possible price.

Extended Care

Before Care is available to students attending Slingerland classes or full-day Camps on a weekly basis, from 7:30am- 9:00am. After Care is available to students attending camps on a weekly basis, ending at 5:30pm.

What to Bring and What to Wear

  • Students do not need to bring any classroom supplies. All classroom supplies will be provided.
  • For students attending morning only, please pack healthy snacks and a water bottle each day.
  • For students attending afternoon only, please pack healthy snacks and a water bottle each day.
  • For students attending a full day of class and camp, please also pack a healthy lunch.
  • Outdoor recess will be provided to all students (rain or shine), so clothing and footwear should allow for comfortable movement and weather conditions. No flip-flops please!
  • Please consider applying sunscreen at home or sending it with the student. Students will be responsible for applying their own sunscreen.

Lunch

Students who are attending a full day of camp will be directed to the lunch commons for a supervised lunch. Please pack a healthy lunch for your student, along with a water bottle or beverage container. Hot lunch is not available for purchase.

Medications

HRS requires that families complete a medication authorization form for prescription and/or over-the-counter medications. All medications must be in the original pharmacy or manufacturer's container. The label must include the student's name, name of medication, dosage and mode of administration, expiration date and name of physician.

All medication will be kept in a secure place in the school's front office. All medications shall be given to school personnel and not kept in the possession of the student. The administration of any dose of medication will be recorded on a log sheet.
