Amplify Sleep Away Camps offer a unique photography program designed to empower youth with invaluable skills while capturing unforgettable moments. Campers receive a comprehensive introduction to photography fundamentals, understanding camera settings and mastering composition techniques. The program nurtures creativity through interactive workshops and hands-on projects, allowing campers to develop a unique visual style and explore visual storytelling. Experienced instructors guide participants through technical aspects like lighting, exposure, and post-processing, enhancing their photographs with editing software. The camp's natural surroundings provide a perfect backdrop for outdoor photography, where campers learn to adapt to different lighting conditions and capture landscapes and wildlife. Through group projects, campers develop teamwork and communication skills, expressing themselves through their photographs. The program fosters personal growth and self-expression, building confidence and a lifelong passion for capturing moments and preserving memories.

Photography Program Details

• ALL LEVELS WELCOME ★ ALL EQUIPMENT PROVIDED
• Learn professional photography skills, from framing and lighting to shooting live action and portraits.
• Explore dynamic lighting techniques to capture the atmosphere of a real concert or studio session.
• Use modern design and editing software to refine shots and build bold, cohesive visuals.
• Create album art, promo posters, and digital graphics that reflect a band's unique vibe.
• Work directly with Amplify's music campers to create real band imagery, album covers, and creative content.
• Campers experiment with color, composition, and design to capture the feeling of sound through visuals. Studio shoots, live band sessions, and editing labs all build toward a final creative portfolio.

Showcase & Portfolio

• By the end of the session, campers will have a themed portfolio of photography and design work, including their own printed and digital album cover project.
• Work will be featured in Amplify's end-of-session showcase alongside live performances from the bands photographed.

PRO PATHWAY (Optional)

• For advanced campers, this immersive can expand into a creative portfolio track, developing real-world work for college applications or careers in photography, graphic design, or visual arts.

Staff

• Photography Teacher: Toni (Antonia), enjoys reading, bad shark movies, loved ones, and photography.
• Day Camp Liaison and Camp Photographer: Aria, volunteered at Chattanooga Girls Rock Camp, mentored young bands, graduate of Simmons University with a degree in Arts Administration, passionate about film photography, hands-on learning, and building confidence in youth.

Tuition & Pricing

• Tuition includes EVERYTHING campers need while onsite: lunch, programming + camp events, camp t-shirt, beach trips and our world-famous FIELD DAY.
• Optional add-ons: surf lessons, private lessons, post-showcase sleepover, swag at our onsite camp store, and more.
• Sleep Away Camp Fees:
  • $9,500 for 4-week session
  • $14,000 for 6-week session
• Early Bird Special: $4,850 per 2-week session (sign up by Oct 31, 2025).

Deposit

• $150 down for sleep away camp.
• $50 for day campers.

Refunds & Flexibility

• Full refunds through Feb 1, 2026.
• Add Camp Insurance to change dates or immersives until Apr 1, 2026 (no fees or penalties).

Group Organization

• Campers are grouped by grade and skill level.
• Group sizes are kept small to maintain a low camper-to-staff ratio.
• Electric Youth dorm experience: safe, supervised, 1–3 other Electric Youth friends, counselors never more than two doors away, dorms on same floor as restrooms/showers, earlier bedtime, built-in rest times.

Location Details

• Proudly in residence @ Besant Hill School, 500+ private acres, swimming pool + so much more.
• All facilities are air conditioned.

Transportation

• Dedicated staff members assist with airport transfers and gate to gate service.
• Camp essentials package rental (bedding, towels) available for those flying.
• Sleep Away Camp drop off: 3-4PM first Sunday. Pick up: 10AM-11AM last Saturday.
• Day Camp drop off: 9:00AM Monday–Friday. Pick up: 4PM Monday–Friday.

Daily Schedule Example

• Morning: Elective (LIT Camp Out, Meditation, Crochet, History of Punk, DnD, Zine Making), Immersive (Guitar, Photo, Rock Band Intensive, Bass, Musical Theatre).
• Lunch
• Post Lunch: Free time, Private Lesson (Drums, Music Production).
• Afternoon: Immersive (Band Practice, Fine Art, Journalism, Film), Elective (Screen printing, Capstone, Beach, Songwriting, Mindfulness and Meditation).
• Dinner
• Evening Activity: Dance Party, Showcase, Talent Show, Ramonda Hammer, The Everythings, Pool Party.

Meals

• Lunch is provided daily, with the exception of Wednesdays for day campers, who will need to pack a lunch.

Equipment

• All equipment provided for Band Photography & Album Design immersive.
• All equipment provided for Bass immersive.
• All equipment provided for Film Making immersive (cameras, lighting gear, and editing stations).

Off-Site Trips

• Every week, Amplify offers off-campus adventures.
• Weekly Day Trips: at least one beach day plus rotating adventures like Roller skating at Skating Plus, Escape rooms & bowling, Kayaking & paddle boarding, Lake Casitas Water Park, Golf N' Stuff & Off The Wall Fun Center.
• Middle Schoolers experience day trips and outings.
• High schoolers and 4- & 6-week campers also get to enjoy epic overnight trips and special intersession weekends.
