Music House Musical Theater Company provides students the opportunity to explore musical theater through a variety of unique class & performance opportunities. In Musical Theater, students take part in drama/acting, dance/choreography, and vocal classes. We provide comprehensive musical theater training while exposing students to the joy of theater and performance. We enable our students to feel confident and supported in stepping onto any stage as well as facilitate and encourage the ensemble spirit. Each year MHMTC produces six full-scale musical theater productions. Past shows include: Lion King, Annie, Mary Poppins, Willy Wonka, Shrek, High School Musical, Junie B. Jones, Newsies, Dear Edwina, and our very own "Echoes: a Musical Revue." Our productions are large scale: students experience the stage with professional lights, sound, and costumes. Our classes are taught by teaching artists with degrees in their field who value creating and teaching equally—cherishing the opportunity to simultaneously practice their craft as teachers and as well as professional performers and creators. In addition to the in-studio productions, MHMTC offers students the opportunity to perform in Chicago communities such as Do Division, Wicker Park Fest, Shakespeare in The Park Green Show and more! No experience required.
