Overview
Welcome to Camp Pinecrest! Pinecrest Pavilion has a new name, but the heart of our camp hasn't changed. Expect the same unforgettable activities, incredible staff, and energetic spirit you know and love this summer.
We are busy creating a spectacular 2026 Camp Pinecrest experience! We will be announcing dates and rates soon! See the registration timeline & general information below: Camp Pinecrest (Formerly Pinecrest Pavilion) offers one-week camp sessions for children in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade, with rising 7th graders who have attended Camp Pinecrest or Pinecrest School also invited to join the fun. Each week features a unique, camp-style theme that guides our activities and adventures. Our days are thoughtfully planned to be active, engaging, and joyful, blending indoor and outdoor play, hands-on arts and crafts, STEAM experiments, nature exploration, games, building challenges, and more. Every Friday, we end the week with an exciting all-camp event, which this year includes a reptile show, a camp carnival, and an epic end-of-summer water battle.
With our revamp of Pinecrest Pavilion into Camp Pinecrest, our goal is to bring back the true spirit of summer: play, connection, and fun! Each week features a unique theme that carries through daily activities and builds excitement toward a special end-of-week event. Each day feels like a classic throwback camp experience, filled with fresh air, hands-on fun, and screen-free adventures.

Eligibility:
- We offer one-week sessions for campers from pre-kindergarten through 6th grade. Rising 7th graders who have previously attended Pinecrest Pavilion or Pinecrest School are also welcome to participate.
- Our pre-kindergarten program is open to children who will turn 4 years old by September 30 of the upcoming school year (or who are currently enrolled in Pinecrest School preschool). Campers must be fully toilet-trained and have prior preschool experience. Families may choose either a half-day or full-day option for pre-kindergarten campers.
- Full-day pre-kindergarten camp runs from 8:50 a.m. to 3:35 p.m., while the half-day option runs from 8:50 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. After-care is available for full-day pre-kindergarten campers until 6:00 p.m. While a half-day option is available, we encourage families to consider the full-day experience when possible. Full-day campers enjoy the complete camp day, including special afternoon activities and camp-wide experiences. Half-day campers will still have a fun and engaging experience, but may miss some of the extended activities and memorable moments that make Camp Pinecrest especially special.
- Rising 7th graders with prior attendance at Pinecrest Pavilion or Pinecrest School are invited to join sessions that include 6th graders. Camp Pinecrest offers full-day programming for all kindergarten through 6th grade campers, ensuring a well-rounded day of activities, creativity, and play.
Assistants-in-Training (AIT) Program:
- Former Pinecrest School students or Pinecrest Pavilion campers who are rising 8th graders through age 15 during the summer are encouraged to apply for our Assistants-in-Training (AIT) program. Accepted campers will be registered as AITs through the general camp registration form. For full program details, eligibility requirements, and application information, please visit the AIT page.
- This program not only creates fun and makes a positive impact on campers' lives, but also supports AITs in their own personal growth. Participants gain valuable skills in leadership and service while building lasting memories and meaningful relationships.
- Duties include: Assist Counselors – Support camp counselors during activities, games, and daily routines. Lead Small Activities – Help guide younger campers in structured activities or crafts under supervision. Model Positive Behavior – Demonstrate kindness, respect, and good sportsmanship for campers. Support Camper Engagement – Encourage participation, help shy campers join in, and foster a positive environment. Help with Setup & Cleanup – Assist in preparing materials for activities and tidying up spaces afterward. Learn Leadership Skills – Observe and practice decision-making, teamwork, and problem-solving. Mentor Younger Campers – Offer guidance, encouragement, and support to campers in a caring way. Follow Safety Procedures – Help ensure campers stay safe and adhere to camp rules at all times.
- The program runs for all summer sessions. Depending on your availability and camper interest, you can choose how many weeks you want to participate. Registration is for full sessions only; prorated pricing is not available. AITs are expected to work from 8:15 AM to 3:35 PM unless prior arrangements are made with camp administration.
- While we do not have an interview, those wanting to join the program must apply, register, and then do an orientation in late May that concludes with a comprehension check. More information about this will be emailed after application and registration are submitted.
- Yes, the program costs $125 per session.

If a child requires medication while at camp, the additional Medication Authorization Form is required. For those intending to use after-care, the intent to use after-care form is also required. All required forms are due on Friday May 29th, 2026 or within 7 days of registration if registered after May 29th. If health forms are not received 14 days before your camper's scheduled session, there will be a $25 fee.
- Campers will not be permitted to attend until all required forms are submitted, and a $50 late fee will be assessed. A guideline sheet is included with the form to ensure it is completed correctly.
- Proof of identity is required. Parents/Guardians must provide one of the following: a certified copy of a birth certificate, birth registration card, passport, or an original Virginia public school report card. This information must be presented in person at Pinecrest School by Friday, May 29, 2026, or within 7 days of registration if registering after that date. If registering fewer than 7 days before the session starts, forms must be submitted by the first day of camp. Campers will not be permitted to attend until all required paperwork is submitted, and a $50 late fee will apply. Children who do not meet Virginia's proof of identity requirements will not be allowed to attend camp. Parents/guardians of children who currently attend or previously attended Pinecrest School for school or camp do not need to provide this information, as it is already on file.
- Parents/guardians of any child who requires prescription medication during the camp day must submit a completed Medication Authorization Form. This form must be filled out by both the parent/guardian and the child's physician; only the Pinecrest School Medication Authorization Form will be accepted. A separate form is required for each medication. Forms must be on file by Friday, May 29, 2026, or within 7 days of registration if registering after this date. If forms are not received at least 14 days before your camper's session, a $25 late fee will apply. For registrations made fewer than 7 days before the session start date, forms must be submitted by the first day of camp. Campers will not be permitted to attend until all required forms are submitted, and a $50 late fee will be assessed.
