About This Camp

Overview

Our mission at CFTC Drama Camp is to provide an opportunity for young artists of all abilities to explore their creativity, develop their skills, and build confidence through collaboration, participation, inclusion, and the magic of theatre. Each session of this camp will revolve around a one-act performance that will take place on the final day with a unique theme and activities, sometimes including special guest artists, so campers attending multiple weeks will get a new experience each time. Looking for a more advanced opportunity? Check out our Spotlight Advanced Drama Camp with a 4 week session putting on a full production!

Broadway Blast!

In this two week session , dive deep into your favorite Broadway musicals. Dance your heart out and belt out tunes spanning classic to contemporary eras with a performance of MTI's Broadway Junior Revue: Pure Imagination , at the end of week 2.

Under the Sea: Finding Nemo KIDS

Set beneath the ocean waves, this week emphasizes teamwork and expressive movement. Students create an underwater world through performance, learning how actors use body, voice, and imagination to build an entire environment onstage, culminating in a production of the musical, Disney's Finding Nemo KIDS.

Adventures in Wonderland

This week invites students into the strange and whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland. Campers explore exaggerated characters, creative staging, and imaginative storytelling while bringing this classic tale to life onstage.

Epic Tales from Mount Olympus

Campers explore epic myths and legendary figures from Greek mythology. Through bold characters and dramatic scenes, students learn how ancient stories can be adapted for the modern stage while developing confidence and stage presence.

Fairytale Fun!

In the final week, students become playwrights. Using familiar fairy tale characters and stories, campers work together to write, rehearse, and perform an original production. This culminating experience encourages creativity, teamwork, and ownership of the storytelling process. Write your own play based on your favorite fairy tale, or mix and match characters to create a new one… the possibilities are endless.
