Overview

Chesterbrook Montessori School's Summer Camp Program is a culturally immersive, play-based summer experience for children ages 16 months through 6 years. Each year, teachers select a featured country that campers will virtually "visit" throughout the three-week session. The chosen country's culture is woven throughout the Montessori classroom experience, inviting children to explore its language, dress, food preparation, arts and crafts, geography, native animals, plants, historical figures, songs, literature, and sports. Native cultural visitors are often invited to share firsthand experiences with the campers. The program follows Montessori principles, balancing structured learning with hands-on exploration, and children eat lunch outdoors each day. Children who will be joining the Primary class in the fall may also be invited to attend if they show readiness.

Additional Information

The program runs Monday through Friday during the first three weeks of June, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM each day. Children bring their own lunches and dine outdoors. The camp is open primarily to currently enrolled Chesterbrook Montessori students, with select incoming Primary students welcomed on a readiness basis.
