Join this high-energy group to play fun music with others! We will make arrangements of several songs (picked on day 1 by camp participants) and learn them on buckets, bass drums, snare drums, hand-held percussion, and other instruments. No previous instrumental experience is necessary, but if you already play an instrument, you may choose to use it during this camp. In addition to all the musical skills and activities, the Drumline Camp focuses on developing self-effectiveness, leadership, and relationship building skills through music. Play music, make friends, have a great time! Students will: discover and nurture the joy of making music; improve their collaborative and teamwork skills; learn, rehearse, and perform culturally relevant, engaging music to which they can relate; explore their creativity and develop ways to express themselves through instruments; reflect on life skills learned through music practice; practice strong presentation skills.
