Overview

Electric Youth are the youngest members of the Amplify family — full of curiosity, imagination, and creativity! This program is designed especially for first-time campers, balancing all the excitement of camp life with the structure and support younger campers need to thrive.

Electric Youth campers enjoy a safe, supervised dorm experience with 1–3 other Electric Youth friends. Counselors are never more than two doors away, and dorms are located on the same floor as restrooms and showers for easy access. With an earlier bedtime and built-in rest times, campers stay refreshed and ready for fun-filled days of music, art, and adventure.

Electric Youth campers are just beginning their Amplify journey — where confidence and creativity grow side by side. As they return year after year, they'll earn new privileges, independence, and leadership opportunities through our Lights, Legends, and LIT programs.

Electric Youth are our youngest Amplify campers — rising 3rd–5th graders who are curious, creative, and full of imagination. Many are first-time sleepaway campers, and our program is designed to make them feel safe, supported, and confident from day one.

Additional Information

Special Features

  • Creative Discovery: Campers explore age-appropriate workshops and immersives that introduce them to music, theatre, film, and the arts in fun, hands-on ways.
  • Supportive Staff: Our highly trained counselors lead campers to each activity, helping them gain independence, confidence, and community awareness.
  • Play + Balance: Every day includes time for free play, snacks, rest, and reflection — keeping campers energized and happy.
  • Field Day Fridays: Once a week, campers enjoy a full day of games, outdoor activities, and a "free choice" schedule — a highlight of the session!
  • Community + Friendship: Electric Youth learn how to be kind teammates, brave artists, and respectful community members — the building blocks of Amplify's empowerment mission.

First-Time Camper Support

  • Trained staff gently guide daily routines and support first-time campers through homesickness—most find their confidence within a day or two.
  • Our staff are specially trained to help kids through homesickness and transitions. Most first-timers feel comfortable and confident within the first day or two.
  • Each Electric Youth camper has two dedicated teachers who stay with them all session — day and night — creating a constant, trusted presence.
  • Our staff know how to support first-time campers with patience, warmth, and confidence-building routines. We encourage letter-writing, positive bedtime reflections, and structured check-ins that help kids feel seen and safe.

Daily Schedule & Activities

  • Every day includes a mix of creative workshops, recreation, and free play — with plenty of snacks and rest breaks.
  • Campers enjoy two immersive blocks , fun group activities in their classroom home base , and evening programs like scavenger hunts, campfires, and talent shows.
  • Bedtime is 9:30 p.m. , and mornings start at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast at 8:00.
  • There are usually 2 blocks of free time each day. After lunch, campers can swim, attend private lessons (available as an add on), or join residential counselors for special activities such as capture the flag, jam sessions, board games in the camper lounge, art room activities like friendship bracelet making, a hike or enjoying some down time listening to records on our record player in the Bjork Chamber of Quiet. There is always an hour rest period each day where campers get down time in their dorm to nap, listen to music, write letters home, etc. before dinner.

Housing & Supervision

  • Campers live in dorms grouped by grade. We use each camper's Get-to-Know-You form to match them with peers who share similar interests, and friend requests are always guaranteed.
  • Restrooms and showers are on the same floor, and counselors are never more than two doors away.
  • There are 3 air conditioned dorm buildings: Phoenix (9th-12th graders), EOS North (3rd-5th graders) and EOS South (6th-8th graders). Each is a unique building with clean + modern dorm rooms, cozy common areas, and communal bathrooms with private stalls, showers and cubbies for toiletries. Our staff live in these very same dorm buildings with campers and provide 24/7 supervision.
  • Staff rooms are dispersed throughout all dorm buildings, with staff available directly to campers 24/7. Their rooms are marked with their names so campers always know where to find 'em! Each staff is accountable to the same ~7 campers throughout their session (their "cabin group" or "night group"), who all bond and make camp home together (e.g., bedtime/wind-down routines).
  • 3rd- 5th graders (Electric Youth) live in the bottom floor of EOS.
  • Campers bunk 2,3 or 4 to a room depending on what the room layout is.

Meals & Allergies

  • Our kitchen is nut and shell fish free, allergy-aware , and full of kid-friendly options. Vegetarian choices are always available, and staff ensure every camper eats well and feels comfortable at mealtimes.
  • Lunch included. All meals, lodging (awesome cabins!) and activities included.

Device Policy

  • Phones stay home so campers can stay fully immersed in the Amplify experience.
  • Electric Youth campers leave phones and devices at home so they can stay fully immersed, make friends, and focus on creative fun. If your child flies to camp, their phone is safely stored in the Health Center until departure.

Safety

  • Safety is woven into everything we do — from trained health and wellness staff to age-appropriate activities and constant supervision.
  • Every Electric Youth group moves together with their two teachers, ensuring no camper ever has to navigate the day alone.
