Overview

The Falls Church School of Ballet (FCSB), operating under the Kintz-Mejia Academy of Ballet (KMAB), has been serving the Falls Church, Virginia community since 1960. The Summer Intensive program is a focused, in-studio ballet training experience that goes well beyond a typical recreational summer activity. Rather than simply offering a fun dance-related program, FCSB uses the summer months to develop students' technical foundations, expand their knowledge of ballet history and vocabulary, introduce character dance, teach stage makeup and performance hair styling, and provide in-depth exposure to professional ballet companies and performances. Students attend sessions alongside their teachers in a rigorous yet supportive environment, resulting in significant technical and artistic growth.

Additional Information

The 2026 Summer Program runs over a 4-week period from June 29 through July 25, with no classes on Saturday, July 4. Classes are offered in-person at the FCSB studios across the following levels and schedules:

Pre-Ballet meets Saturdays 9:00–9:30 AM at $150 for the session.

Ballet Prep A meets Saturdays 9:30–10:15 AM at $180 for the session.

Ballet Prep B meets Mondays and Wednesdays 4:15–5:15 PM at $200 for the session.

Ballet I meets Mondays and Wednesdays 5:15–6:15 PM at $300 for the session.

Ballet II meets Mondays and Wednesdays 6:15–7:15 PM at $500 for the session.

A $50 deposit is required to reserve a spot, due by March 15th. New students must audition for level placement.
