Overview

In celebration of our 250th year as a nation, we look back to the exuberance of some our country's earliest American folklore, stories and music. From tall tales in the tradition of Paul Bunyon or Johnny Appleseed, to the sun snatchers of western Native American legend, or Appalachian ballads like John Henry, and the adventurous Brer Rabbit fables from the deep south, these stories speak to a time when American virtues like optimism and common sense were celebrated. Our final performance will include music, dance, even a little puppetry, and everyone will play a musical instrument!
