WE OFFER THREE DIFFERENT GR!ASP PROGRAMS:

  • The Band Experience: GR!ASPers unlock their inner rockstar and learn one of five instruments (electric guitar, electric bass, drums, vocals, or keyboard), form a band with their fellow students, write an original song together, and perform it at a concert for their teachers, families, and friends!
  • Electronic Music & Beatmaking: GR!ASPers learn the fundamentals of electronic music and beatmaking utilizing the online platform Bandlab. Students flex their critical thinking and creative writing skills, using loops, samples, and live recordings to create original songs.
  • Songwriting Exploration: In this drop-in friendly class, GR!ASPers learn the fundamentals of music and songwriting. Each class explores a different topic, and students transform that idea into an new original, collaboratively-written song each week.

GIVE BACK TO GR!ASP!

GR!ASP is led by local DC musicians and community leaders who serve as role models for GR!ASPers and help them discover their inner rock star. Join us!
