Welcome to Spring 2026 Fairfax Little League Teenage Baseball (Juniors, and Seniors) Registration!

Junior Division – Consists primarily of 13 and 14 year olds that move to a 90 foot field, the same as high school, college, and professional baseball.

The regular season lasts approximately two months starting the end of March or early April for the Spring. Teams play two games per week, one on a week night (games start at 6:00 or 6:30) and one on Saturday. For Juniors and Seniors, for games involving Fairfax teams (or ANSLL teams in Juniors), on weekdays no inning will begin later than 2 hours after the scheduled start time. On weekends, no inning will being later than 2 hours and 15 minutes after the scheduled start time.

Practices will begin in early to mid March for the Spring season. There will generally be 3 weeks of practice prior to the start of the regular season. There will be practices during the week and on Saturdays; the number of practices will vary by level and field availability, usually once or twice a week.

Fielders are expected to field most ground balls, make infield throws, catch thrown balls, catch infield pop ups, and catch routine fly balls.

Additional Information

Eligibility: To be eligible to participate in this league, your child must attend school within the league's boundary or a parent/legal guardian must reside within the league's boundary. If a player qualifies by both residency and school attendance, either option may be used. Players of league-age 13 through 16 need only reside within or attend a school within the combined boundary of both leagues.

Equipment: The League provides a shirt and hat thanks to the Washington Nationals Team Up program. Pants (manager will let you know what color, but gray or white is usually a safe bet), Socks (manager will let you know what color), Cleats (Only Juniors and Seniors are allowed to have metal cleats), Bat (click for current Little League bat rules), Helmet.

Our Equipment and Clothing Exchange is held at Chilcott Field on the 3rd Saturday in March and August, just before the start of the Spring and Fall seasons. Everything is free and you don't need to bring anything to participate. Exchanges can also be made anytime on the Fairfax Little League Baseball and Softball Exchange page on Facebook.

Evaluations: Evaluations are held for players wishing to play in AA through Juniors. Players should bring a glove and wear sneakers. If they have their own bat and helmet, you can bring those also. No cleats. Juniors are combined across the divisions. Managers need to see all the kids to rate them on their abilities in running, batting, fielding, and throwing, so the groups remain together through all the stations. Every child is eligible for the draft and will be selected and placed on a team.

Tournaments: End of season Division level League-based tournaments usually run for one week at the conclusion of the regular season - usually mid-June for Juniors. In the Spring, tournament games tend to be around the last week of May and the first two weeks of June. All players participate in these Spring season ending tournaments with their regular season team.

Spring season baseball players can qualify for selection to District 10 Tournament teams. These games run from mid-June to mid-July depending on the team's success. District 10 Tournament team members are announced on or around June 1st with practices beginning immediately and involves practices or games almost every day of the week while the team is in tournament play. Teams that win District 10 can advance to State Tournaments, Regional Tournaments and even the Little League World Series!

Fairfax Little League utilizes the "league" feature in GameChanger, which helps track pitch counts and even accounts for the first pitch to the last batter. This takes into account LLI rules regarding pitch counts and days of rest.

Discounts & Scholarships: If you are registering more than one child, brothers and/or sisters, in Fairfax Little League, you will receive a discount of $25 for the second child and each subsequent child. Registration fees can be waived for a player if they meet one of several conditions. Late Fee: A $25 late fee will be charged on registrations after the regular registration period ends the Wednesday before evaluations are held in the Spring or a week before the first draft in the Fall. This is typically about the time when the waitlist begins.

Refund Policy: A refund request made before January 15 will be refunded the registration fee minus a $25 processing fee. A refund request made between January 16-February 15 will be refunded the registration fee minus a $50 processing fee. A refund request made between February 16-March 1 will be refunded your registration fee minus a $100 processing fee. There are no refunds after evaluations or March 1, whichever happens first. Full refunds will be provided due to injury or an unexpected move. Refunds will NOT be provided because families cannot adjust their schedules to Fairfax LL practice or game times, nor will refunds be provided because the league is unable to accommodate a teammate/carpool or coach request.
