About This Camp

After-School Program

The After-School Program is a transformative, strength-based experience designed to help students in grades 2-5 discover their talents, grow their confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. Operating Monday through Friday for three hours daily, the program offers a safe and inspiring space for youth to learn, lead, and thrive

Building Academic Confidence

Through our Academic Power Hour, students get the individualized support they need to advance academically. With small-group tutoring, engaging academic activities, and the proven READ Naturally curriculum twice a week, students strengthen their literacy skills, tackle challenges, and celebrate their successes.

Discovering Strengths Through Enrichment

After academics, students explore their passions and talents through hands-on activities:

  • VeggieTime: Students cultivate wellness and nutrition knowledge while learning about gardening and healthy living.
  • Citizenship: Youth grow as leaders and changemakers through community service-learning and advocacy projects.
  • STEM: Students unleash their creativity with exciting experiments, engineering challenges, and coding.
  • Art with a Purpose: Students express emotions through art, mindfulness activities, and creative exploration.
  • KP Circles: Students discuss social issues and strengthen self-awareness, teamwork, and decision-making skills.

Learning All Year Long

Kid Power's support extends into summer with the Summer Leadership Academy, a full-day, five-week program that builds on the After-School program. Students engage in project-based learning that fuels curiosity, collaboration, and creativity, focusing on English Language Arts, STEM, and Citizenship in the morning, followed by exciting enrichment in the afternoon.
