Overview

Learning Tree Montessori is a year-round, home-based Montessori childcare program in Fairfax City, Virginia, serving children ages 4 months through 6 years. Founded and led by Maria Unda — a certified Montessori guide with over 35 years of early childhood experience and a Bachelor's degree — the program is rooted in deep respect for each child's individuality and learning pace. Following the Montessori philosophy, activities are driven by children's natural interests, fostering independence, autonomy, cognitive development, motor skills, and language acquisition. Emotional growth is equally prioritized, with an emphasis on self-confidence, empathy, and relationship-building. The program is conducted in both English and Spanish, reflecting the multicultural values of the Fairfax community it serves. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are provided daily.

The program is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM year-round. Both full-time and part-time enrollment options are available. The program is led by Maria Unda with assistant Elsa Ramos and uses exclusive Montessori materials in a carefully prepared home environment. Enrollment is available for children from 6 months through 6 years of age.
