Math Moves Me

About This Camp
Get out of your seat and leap into math! Explore fractions through dance, collect data while jumping rope, and practice computation with tag! Campers will run, chase, jump and play their way through measurement, multiplication, graphing and more. They'll learn about strategy and probability as they design their own board games, one to take home and a life-size outdoor board game they play outside. This camp will have girls on their feet and having a blast, not just doing the math, but moving and grooving with math!
Girls Rock Math camps are multi-age and allow for a range of learners to approach the content together. Most of the time a typical learner should do just great in a camp designed for the grade she is entering in the fall. If you have a child who struggles with math or is advanced, please see our FAQ to determine if your child should be placed in a lower or higher camp. Our registration system will not allow children too young, too old, or outside of the grade band listed in the enrollment forms to register for a camp they are not eligible for. If your child has a learning difference, please specify what kind and how we can support your child in the Learning Profile during registration. Our staff is trained to work with a wide range of learners, including those with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and those who have IEPs in math, but we need to have that information in advance to best prepare for your child. We ask that you select the camp for your child based on where you believe she will be most successful. You can view the Skills and Standards for any camp in the camp description on our website. We cannot refund camp fees if you register your child for a camp that does not fit her social or academic level, have not disclosed her learning needs, or have not provided our staff with information needed in order to support your child academically at camp.
When you sign up for camp, please select a camp which you anticipate your child attending the full week. We are unable to register children for partial weeks and do not provide a reduced rate if your child cannot attend the entire week. We recognize that due to travel sometimes children may miss a Monday or Friday. Our camp staff will do their best to make the camp experience positive for any child who misses a day.
At Girls Rock Math we aren't just doing math. We play games, sing songs, create art, meet new friends and make amazing memories.
Art + Math = Fun Campers do daily arts and crafts projects that integrate a variety of math skills into the projects. What comes home may look like a fun craft, but behind the pretty picture is plenty of math!
Building Community Girls Rock Math campers collaborate, share ideas, listen, and build friendships over the course of the week. Community building activities are part of every day at camp and help contribute to increased self-esteem and self-image.
Small Groups Campers are placed into small groups with a dedicated counselor. This allows campers to get more attention and support during math activities. Our experienced teachers lead and oversee the whole camp class while the counselor works closely with her campers specifically, getting to know them well and helping them grow.
Active, Playful Math Experiences We make math fun! Many of our math activities are done outside, involve real-world problem-solving, partner activities, and projects. We make math meaningful and engaging!
Fun and Games Our campers learn through play! Math games are incorporated into every day of camp and bring so much joy into learning. Who said math isn't fun?
