PreK (Pre Kindergarten 4-5)

About This Camp
Ages 4-5 years They are ready for more responsibilities as "big kids". This program is set up to get the prekindergarten-aged children ready for school through an emphasis on academics. They are now able to take on more responsibilities and be more independent. During this stage we encourage the children to experiment, explore and pursue their own interests. Teachers will provide the children opportunities to make their own choices, to promote problem solving and will establish activities that allow creative expression. New subjects include: Literacy: the use of language and words (writing their name, recognizing written letters) Math: numbers, recognizing patterns and relationships) and many more.
In our Preschool II program (ages 4–5), children learn pre-reading and pre-writing skills, engage in collaborative projects, build confidence in group settings and participate in "kindergarten readiness" activities including following routines, organising their belongings and communicating with peers.
Our curriculum is based on engaging our students to learn through discovery. Children learn individually and with others through play. We offer our children a play-based educational curriculum, which supports all aspects of their learning and development. It supports their natural curiosity and desire to make sense of the world around them and helps them discover that learning is interesting and fun. Our programs and curriculum are designed to provide children from diverse cultural backgrounds with unique interactions, opportunities and experiences that will help them reach their full potential in six developmental domains: Physical, Cognitive, Language, Creative, Emotional, and Social. The students at Rise and Shine Daycare Center experience daily physical activity programs to ensure a healthy progression of physical growth. The children learn through senses, curiosity, imitation, conversations, and imagination. Activities include art, music, books, cooking, nature, blocks, puzzles, story time and Spanish as a second language. The goal of this program is to provide a well-rounded curriculum that aids children in all areas of development.
Yes! At Rise & Shine Prek, we believe in nurturing the whole child — academically, socially, physically, and creatively. Throughout the year, we partner with trusted local vendors to offer a rotating selection of extracurricular enrichment classes, including soccer, gymnastics, music, and dance. These classes vary by season and are designed to introduce children to new skills, build confidence, and make learning even more fun. Enrollment for each activity is optional, and schedules and fees are shared with families in advance.
