Overview

The Montessori School of South Riding (MSSR) offers a Primary Program for children between the ages of 3 and 6 years. Skilled professionals, sensitive and responsive to each child's learning patterns and needs, help students grow in confidence, independence, and knowledge. The mixed‑age Montessori classroom is carefully curated with a full set of Montessori materials, encouraging academic exploration as well as collaboration, problem solving, and creative thinking.

The curriculum spans Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, Geography, Art, Music, and Movement. Children remain in the classroom for three years, developing a love of learning, self‑confidence, self‑discipline, and strong internal motivation. Program options include Half Day (Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 1:00 pm), Extended Day (Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 3:00 pm) for Kindergarten‑age students, and Full Day (Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm) which provides additional experiences such as gardening, cooking, and baking along with time for rest and relaxation.
