About This Camp
Overview
StringTime Summer Camp is a full-day, week-long string instrument camp for children ages 7–12 in Northern Virginia, operated by StringTime, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. No prior experience is required — students arrive on Day 1 without ever having touched an instrument and perform in a concert on Day 5. Instruments (violin, viola, or cello) are provided for the duration of each camp week at no additional cost. The program is taught by professional faculty who have performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center. The curriculum integrates private lessons, music theory, music history, ensemble playing, games, and daily faculty performances, culminating in a Friday evening concert for families. Students may attend one or multiple weeks; featured composers and repertoire differ each week.
