Empower teens to cook with confidence at Teen Summer Camp in Oak Park—hands-on culinary experiences in a creative and supportive environment. Teens will love cooking and baking together in our small group classes at Oak Park! They will learn new skills, cooking fundamentals, and be creative in the kitchen. Each class is unique and every week is packed with recipes and projects, encouraging skill development, creativity, and helping young chefs build confidence. Chefs will create a new recipe each day, building on skills throughout the week. Skill-building includes kitchen sanitation and safety, knife skills, measuring fundamentals, recipe reading, finding recipes, time management, working with meat (optional!), sautéing + skillet techniques, pastry, cake decorating (piping) + yeasted doughs. Recipes are sent home each week so that young chefs can continue practicing skills at home. The camp offers themed weeks such as 'Food Court Faves' (learning yeasted dough, baking, kitchen safety, working with meat, knife skills, seasoning, sauteing, recipe reading), 'Food Network Camp' (light-hearted competitions, new recipes, valuable kitchen skills, and creativity), and 'Cake Trends Camp' (mastering precision and creativity, crafting glazes and buttercreams, and creating stunning decorations with piping techniques, with participants baking full-sized cakes).
