Overview

Transitions Class focuses on preparing young children for the next stage of their education by fostering social and emotional development and encouraging independence. The curriculum offers opportunities for students to increase confidence while working and playing together. Children engage in activities designed to develop gross and fine motor skills, practice identifying and writing their first and last names, and build letter recognition and letter‑sound awareness. Daily writing and science centers are provided, along with exercises to strengthen one‑to‑one correspondence when counting. Students are exposed to pre‑reading and pre‑math skills such as rhyming, patterns, and extending patterns. The class also provides opportunities for children to pray and learn about God, emphasizing God's love and the importance of loving others.
