This summer, Schoolhouse Kitchen + Studio is celebrating its 8th year of full-day summer cooking camps for ages 5-11 at Wicker Park. Kids will love learning, playing, growing, crafting, baking, and cooking. Each day is unique and packed with recipes and projects. Campers will make lunch from scratch, including homemade pasta, handmade tortillas, and dough for empanadas. Schoolhouse provides age-appropriate tools and a warm, encouraging staff to help kids learn important life skills in a positive, supportive, and fun environment. Campers also make their own dessert each afternoon, practicing measuring, mixing, and baking skills. While meals are provided, campers are welcome to bring nut-free food for an extra lunch or a snack. The camp focuses on building skills throughout the week with longer projects in a relaxed and creative environment. Daily activities include trips to the park and area gardens. Recipes are sent home each week for continued practice at home.
